Meet BMT’s FD Team!

 

Our clients are the heart of our business.

The ongoing mission of our FD team is to serve the needs of our clients. Each visit. Every time. When a client is unhappy for any reason we make it right with them immediately.  It is not good enough to just meet your expectations, we want to exceed them. If this hasn’t been done then we have not fully done our job. Building trust and relationships with clients in the most rewarding part of our job.

Mike Rollet, |Front Desk Manager | Joined BMT in August 2009

 Briefly describe your story and what brought you to BMT:

I applied for a part time job with a  new company that had a great purpose, that was back in 2009.

What does being a part of the BMT community mean to you?

Making a difference in peoples lives.

What do you like best about helping our clients?

Getting to know people’s stories.

Favorite way to YES! And… a client:

I like when a client gives feedback after one massage and we accommodate that need on their next massage.

What is your favorite service story?

A client was having a stressful experience at BMT, all she wanted was to have a cigarette but they were locked in her car and the keys were with her boyfriend who was getting a massage. I went to the store and bought her a pack then recommended a therapist to her that turned out to be her favorite therapist!

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

All ice cream is my favorite flavor of ice cream!

What is your dream vacation?

 I love to travel, really any vacation with my family is great!


Erin Morris | Joined BMT in August 2011

During Sept-November Errin is living in Vienna sharing her story and passion for dance with students. 

Her passion for client service and making sure all clients leave happy was evident from the start! She is the anchor of our Thursday morning shift. Erin helps set the tone for the week and is the go-to person for many of our training and administrative. Friendly and efficient, you will often see Erin multitasking and being happy to do so. 


Chris Guinnup | Joined BMT in March 2012

Briefly describe your story and what brought you to BMT:

I enjoy working in customer service, but I’m very selective about the company I work for. When I was searching for a job, I needed somewhere with great energy and a good community. BMT has been able to provide that for me.

What does being a part of the BMT community mean to you?

I really love the energy I get from the BMT community. It brings positivity and a focus on good health to my day. Being able to help people achieve that means a lot to me.

What do you like best about helping our clients?

I like to see the transformation from someone dealing with stress and pain to someone floating away, having left it all behind.

Favorite way to YES! And… a client:

I like to assure someone that we can help them, then to go on and explain which therapists would best meet their needs and why. I also like showing clients the ways we can help make massage affordable and adaptable.

What is your favorite service story?

So many. It’s difficult to narrow down. My favorites are when clients recognize me outside of Balance and appreciate what we do for them.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

The Michigan Black Bear at Washtenaw Dairy.

What is your dream vacation?

Road trip through Central and South America. 

Brent Miller | Project Manager & Trainer | Joined BMT in July 2012

Briefly describe your story and what brought you to BMT:

What started as a part-time job during grad school quickly became a life-altering experience. I found Balance through a colleague who worked at BMT and always said it was the BEST work experience she’d ever had. She wasn’t lying! I’m happy to have been a part of BMT since July 2012.

What does being a part of the BMT community mean to you?

It means always looking for and taking advantage of opportunities to make others happy. It means sharing the power of massage with others so they can maintain balance in their lives. It means showing up to work with a smile and receiving smiles in return.

What do you like best about helping our clients?

Learning each client’s story and how massage can help them with their wellness goals.

Favorite way to YES! And… a client?

I love recommending new therapists to clients! Each therapist has their own unique approach to massage, and it’s very fun to listen to clients’ needs and match them with their new favorite therapist. I really enjoying saying “YES! we have appointments available AND all our therapist are amazing!”

What is your favorite service story?

There are so many! One in particular taught me an important lesson about service. A client arrived about 30 minutes early to her massage but thought she was on time. She was understandably frustrated because her massage appointment at another studio had been canceled without her knowledge, so those feelings were fresh in her mind. I sat and spoke with her in studio, apologizing and reassuring her that her experience and happiness at BMT was my #1 priority. Just listening to her story helped relieve some of her tension and she ended up having a GREAT massage! It’s SO IMPORTANT to listen to each client’s story to deliver the best service we can. It definitely sets BMT apart!

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Anything with chocolate, chocolate chips, and/or peanut butter.

What is your dream vacation?

I would LOVE to visit the rest of the solar system! I’m a space nut at heart and would jump at the chance to hop on board a spaceship.

Kim Creswell | Joined BMT in November 2013

Briefly describe your story and what brought you to BMT:

I found Balance shortly after graduating from UofM with my degree in music. I have always been an advocate for holistic health and healing and BMT’s Yes! And service philosophy and caring environment drew me in. Balance has supported me and allowed me to develop professionally and personally! So glad to be here!!!

What does being a part of the BMT community mean to you?

The BMT Community is one where we treat everyone like the most important person in the world. Here at Balance we understand that even the smallest things can really make a difference. I am proud to be part of a community that is so filled with positivity it stays with me long after I clock out.

What do you like best about helping our clients?

I love helping clients feel cared for and happy when they leave.

Favorite way to YES! And… a client?

It brings me joy to make a difference and make somebody smile. I like going the extra mile for a client; bringing them extra water, printing off their schedule, storing their lunch in the fridge, finding directions to their next destination or letting them in on the latest weather updates.

What is your favorite service story?

BMT Valet: A client came to BMT on a busy day and there was no space to park, she had to leave her car in a handicapped space since she was already running late. I let her know not to worry, we would still be able to get her full 60 minutes AND I would move her car for her when another space became available.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia

What is your dream vacation?

Nepal so I can practice yoga in the Himalayas!

Or a backpacking trip through Southeast Asia!

Briefly describe your story and what brought you to BMT:

I am an EMU student and was looking for a job in the area. Finding Balance for me started with as a simple job hunt and instead I found a tight-knit community of friends!

What does being a part of the BMT community mean to you?

It means working with people that care. Balance is different than anywhere else I have worked because the people here care about each other from clients to massage therapists.

What do you like best about helping our clients?

I love being able to see so many people leave here happy and smiling. Many of our clients come in experiencing some pain and it feels great knowing that we are helping.

Favorite way to YES! And… a client?

Making sure each client knows about our valuable ways to save such as rebook rates and happy hour.

What is your favorite service story?

I don’t have just one favorite! Seeing all of our clients leave happy is my favorite part of the job.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Extreme Chocolate Moose Tracks

What is your dream vacation?

Greece, Japan, or Ireland

Briefly describe your story and what brought you to BMT:

I was looking for a job and Balance Massage Therapy’s ad was the only one that stood out to me, I could already feel the positive energy before I even walked through BMT’s doors!

What does being a part of the BMT community mean to you?

It means working with a wonderful group of people who are there to help and care for you when you need it. BMT is all about service, not only to clients, but teammate as well. We’re a family and I’m so glad I was able to find my way to Balance and be a part of such an amazing community!

What do you like best about helping our clients?

How appreciative and thankful they are after! I’m sure everyone feels great after helping another person with anything. Sometimes it is just what someone needs to change their day from a disaster to a great one, you never know!

Favorite way to YES! And… a client?

Going the extra mile is my favorite, really.  From simply grabbing a client a cup of water when they ask if we have a fountain, to noting important and helpful information on their accounts to help book them better in the future, it is all my favorite!

What is your favorite service story?

So many great ones I can’t pick! I just love seeing how happy clients are after we give them great service and everyone at Balance does such a great job of doing so.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Cookie dough! :)

What is your dream vacation?

Bahamas!

Briefly describe your story and what brought you to BMT:

Born and raised in Ann Arbor, went to Pennsylvania for college where I studied physical therapy and played volleyball for 4 years. After I graduated I came back home looking for an awesome weekend job, that’s when I found BMT!

What does being a part of the BMT community mean to you?

Being a part of the BMT community means that I can help all kinds of people find balance, relaxation, and stress release. It means a lot to me that I can help take away stress in peoples lives and give them a great experience.

What do you like best about helping our clients?

I like that I can tell people are truly relaxed and much happier after we’ve helped them. I also like being able to shift their day around to a positive note if they have been having a bad or stressful day.

Favorite way to YES! And… a client?

When a client checks out I love to “Yes” I have you all checked out “AND” I will absolutely be able to book your next appointment!

What is your favorite service story?

I love when a business or company takes the time to do little things that matter to clients. BMT has awesome hand towels in the bathrooms and my hair salon has a little closet for hanging my sweater. It’s the little things that count!

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Superman!

What is your dream vacation?

Secluded tropical beach house with unlimited fresh fruit and fish!
