Hiring on behalf of our clients, we are looking for massage therapists who have experience with Swedish, Sports, Prenatal, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular and Myofascial massage therapy.

We we have the systems in place to help you grow your practice within the walls and structure provided by Balance Massage Therapy.

We offer % based pay per massage, a comprehensive bonus plan including: quarterly retention bonuses, milestone and annual bonuses; BMT also offers ongoing internal training and $.25 continuing education credit per session.

Balance provides the marketing efforts, linens, and lotion. We also invest into our client service side and provide a front desk team who are embody Balance’s commitment to client service.

Our average therapist works 3.5 shifts each week, has 60 client sessions per month, makes an average of $110 per shift and receives a $325 quarterly retention bonus.

BMT Celebrates 25,000 Massages

BMT Build Out 2012 Update

We’re in the home stretch to the starting line!

Here are the answers to the questions on everyone’s mind……….

Why are you expanding now?
We opened in October of 2008 and have seen steady growth since day one. We currently are on pace to max out our existing 5 rooms in the next three months. Balance’s goal of offering accessible massage therapy means that we need to have space for you to be able to get in to see your therapist whenever you need.

Are you expanding in the same location?
Yes. 5155 Plymouth Rd will still be our address. We are adding on right next to our current location. We’re adding 5 more massage rooms for clients and a large break room for our hard working team. We also will be adding on to the lobby and expanding the new space by 6 feet. We are working to make sure the BMT experience continues to be the best one in Ann Arbor!

How does the build out affect me?
During the build out process you will see a lot of activity around Balance. We are having them create the new space (w/ sound proofing) before we break through the walls.

We are installing a water fountain that has a water bottle refill station. We will no longer be handing out water bottles after each visit. We will, however, be giving BMT water bottles to our repeat clients for their use.

We are going to be adding another member to our amazing front desk team. We will have someone dedicated to making sure when you arrive you are greeted and your therapist is informed you are there. They also will be available for any questions or needs you may have before your massage. When your massage is complete you’ll visit with our front desk team to check out and rebook. We are hoping to add another layer of amazing client service to your visit.

And finally the most important piece of this is making sure when you call you can get in to see a therapist that day. We currently are turning away clients each day. When we say “We’ve Got Your Back” – we want you to know we mean it!

We don’t quite have the date set yet for the breaking ground of our expansion, however, we have many fun things planned to celebrate it.

One of them is BUILD OUT BINGO!

Each time you come to BMT you’ll have the chance to get a new board. We currently have 4 of them we’ll have in rotation. Get a bingo on the card and you’ll be entered into a series of drawings. We’ll be giving away weekly prizes, as well as, a GRAND PRIZE 12 Pack 60 Min Massage package.

Brian Wood is a graduate from Irene’s Myomassology Institute. Brian is passionate about the healing aspects of massage therapy. He believes in listening to his clients and adapts his technique to their needs. Brian draws on his experience in Mayofascial, CranioSacral, Reiki and Lymphatic Drainage to provide his clients with a truly relaxing and therapeutic experience. Brian enjoys reading and spending time with his family and friends.

David Paul, graduated from Lakewood School of Therapeutic Massage of Port Huron in 2001. He has spent years practicing massage and perfecting his ability to do specific targeted work while incorporating different massage modalities. He is able to work on what on correcting issues, while keeping you in a relaxed state.

Working with a wide range of tools, David incorportaes Swedish, Deep Tissue, Polarity, Myofascial Release, and Reflexology as needed to make each client session is unique and tailored to the needs of his clients.

David has a passion for martial arts and holds his 2nd degree black belt in Choi Kwang Do. He also is a Choi Kwang Do instructor, holding classes for people from the ages of 5-60, as well as, Austic children.

David’s schedule is:
Tuesdays: 10-3, Wednesdays 3-8, Fridays 3-8, Saturdays 10-3

CELEBRATING 3 AMAZING YEARS!

We’ve hit a lot of milestones in the past three years. We’ve helped over 4000 people find Balance, our talented team of massage therapists have performed over 14,500 massages, we’ve rolled out our Balance-In-Motion on site division, signed a lease to expand by 2000 sqf in 2012, rolled out a brand new website and had the privilege of meeting and getting to know our amazing clients.

3 years ago, Chris and I opened the doors to Balance with a belief that our business model would have an impact on Ann Arbor. We are amazed daily by how Balance has been embraced and never take for granted how lucky we are to work hard to create a business that we are passionate about and proud of.

Happy Hour Has Never Felt Quite So Fabulous

Happy hour has never felt quite so fabulous…

I had my second 90 minute hot stone massage with Christin last night. They are 25% off Tuesdays and Thursdays as part of their Happy Hour promotion and it is a MUST try! Such a bargain and so completely healing and relaxing. An utter treat.

I am convinced Christin has the hands of an angel. Somehow she manages to get rid of problem areas I tell her of as well as places I did not even realize were problematic until she makes the problem disappear. My neck and shoulders are always tight and achy but she takes all that away. Surprisingly though, I did not even realize that one side of my lower back was bothering me until after she had treated it and I got a feeling of deep relief.

I love that she takes the time to chat before the massage and see just what is bothering you so she can take care of it. Afterwards she even showed me some stretches to prevent the problems as well. This doesn’t seem to come off your actual massage time as I got my full 90 minutes on the table, rather than 75 or 80 as I know can happen elsewhere.

Christin is really great about chat level during the massage itself. She will chatter with you when you need it but can go so quiet when you are in relaxed bliss. I like this as I generally switch gears on that pretty frequently. She is just great about following your cues.

The bonus of the hot stone massage in particular is it makes a deeper tissue massage more comfortable for a sensitive girl like me. It allows the muscles to warm, relaxing easier and helping circulation. It also feels amazing and soothing really. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to get true healing without the ouch that can sometimes come with a deep tissue massage. I felt like a puddle of jello after my massage and I feel 15 years younger today.

I also want to know what kind of massage oil they use as my skin is absolutely baby soft today. I know I also am able to dress afterwards without feeling like a gross oil slick because it absorbs really well. I have such sensitive skin and it never causes a bit of issue for me either, which I have experienced elsewhere.

The best part of Balance is it is so comfortable. I really feel welcomed and at home there. Josie and Christin are both so super sweet and ask about what is going on in your life, you feel really nurtured and cared for. Oddly they are an equally good fit for my polar opposite, my non chatty and shy type husband. He also feels more comfortable there than anywhere else we have gone as well.

I have long been a salon, spa and massage hopper but I am not a massage hopper any more. Balance is definitely my home.
